In pursuit of passion.....
I know I mentioned it pouring in one of my previous posts and I'm glad to announce the showers are still coming. I just accepted the position of Collegiate Cycling Manager with USA Cycling in CO Springs. This is an awesome step for me that allows me to pursue my passion with not only cycling, but collegiate cycling none-the-less. I must admit though that this was not an easy decision as I had to weigh out my options with the offer that was also made to ride for the well-established Einstein Bagels Elite cycling team next year. Lucky enough, I have worked out the deal to where I will be able to continue to race for the team and fulfill my roles as a full-time employee at the Olympic Training Center Campus.
The next few weeks are going to be tough as I must finish out my final two weeks personal training from 6-10 am five days a week at Fitness Together and wrapping up the final few days at MOB Cyclery, while making the 80 mile commute to the Springs to start my new roles. I am definitely going to be busy, but the busier I am...the more productive I become.
On a cycling note, I have to mention a great set-up that the shop has going here and similar to the WnW warehouse training studio. MOB has a Compu-trainer studio that I experienced last night that is unbelievable. We were able to ride the pre-programmed Ironman Germany course while watching both our riding stats and a Tour DVD on the projector screen. It was nice to be able to train watching my watts, avg watts, and watts/kg on the screen and correlating with my ideas of perceived exertion and HR. I have always steered clear of power meters for myself, but after experiencing it first hand....I can see where it is a superior form of training. I may have to see if I can get a hook-up somewhere.
Well sorry for no flashy pics, but gotta go take care of business to arrange the new move and job.

Daniel,
I am so very proud of you!! Congratulations on your new job with USAC! Your mom came by and told me the news today so I hopped on here to see if you posted anything. TOTALLY AWESOME!! I hope you can make your way back to KY for the BEC (Oct 22) if you are not too busy with the new job and all. It would be great to see you and hear all about your new life out there. Take care and best wishes with the new job!!
Tim & Ronnie
